You've just spent a year planning your big annual conference and now you want to make sure you document all the great moments for next year. It's a big event with a lot of hard work you put into, so here are our Top 5 Reasons for Hiring a Professional Conference Photographer.
And no, that doesn't mean your cousin that just got a camera for Christmas!
Stage Lighting is Different
You have only a bit of time while the speaker is on stage to get those key shots that you're going to want to use in your marketing materials next year. The lighting is usually horrible and clear shots on a poorly lit stage usually require a sharp telephoto lens and really good experience with flash photography.
On average, our team at Eversnap has 10-15 years of experience with a lot of different gear to get those key moments "right."
You Need More than Just a Camera
Most volunteers and amateurs often just have a pretty good camera body. This is a good start but when it comes to amazing shots, you'll also need great lenses and lighting to help offset the bad lighting.
If you're on the side of the room and far back, you'll need a telephoto lens so you don't interrupt guests. Wide crowd shots will require another wide angle lens. Basically, a professional will come prepared with more than just a camera to get all these kinds of shots.
The Bokeh Effect AKA "The Blurry Background"
That beautiful "bokeh effect" is when the background is a bit out of focus so the attention is just on the main subject. We LOVE getting a few of these shots for your speakers and engaged guests. No, it's not magic, but it comes back to that experience and knowing which lens to use. You can learn more about it here.
Make your Room Look PACKED! (So you can sell more tickets next year!)
The little things make a difference. Experience with shot lists and knowing how to make your crowd look full and engaged is where a professional will stand out. A professional photographer will know which angles will make your room look best for marketing materials. Plus, we understand what photos you'll want to share to keep your sponsors happy and have more knocking on your door next year.
We'll make it look like all of New York City came out for your event.
Don't Risk a No-Show with Someone who is Not Serious about your Event
Besides quality, you're going to want to make sure your photographer is someone you can depend on. If your volunteer ends up dropping out last minute, you'll be stuck with a few so-so shots on your phone.
You can't redo your event. This is why professionals have methods in place to reduce the chances of emergency situations and will be your dedicated photographer. At Eversnap, in the very rare case an emergency has happened (injury, accident, etc.), we will try to send another photographer to make sure you are covered.
You've invested a lot of time, effort and money on your event, why wouldn't you invest in a professional to have amazing photos to show off all that hard work?
